Accommodation

Bienvenue a La Palanque. When you arrive, we want your sojourn to be like a home away from home, with the option of a luxury hospitality service should you desire it.

Our five gites, are built on a picturesque private estate, a former army equestrian training site which dates back to the Napoleonic days. The accommodation’s exposed brick work is original, and has been lovingly preserved. You get a sense of bucolic style staying in the new beautifully built abodes still retaining the original 300 year old stone, belonging to the barns of yesteryear. Acer, Mimosa, Poplar, Sequoia and Willow (the names are inspired by trees growing on the private grounds) are equipped to a very high standard with everything you need for self-catering, making your packing easier (and lighter). They are amply spacious, the largest, accommodating up to eight people at a time, and are nestled within La Palanque’s rustic 25 acre domain, with its wonderful array of amenities. (Should you ever be thinking of planning that special anniversary or family get together, you can secure the entire estate exclusively for 22 adults and six children).

In each highly specified private holiday home, you’ll find fully-stocked kitchens with everything from picnic cutlery, to cling film and coffee machines. All the modern conveniences (four zone induction hobs, large fridge freezers, complete crockery sets and dish washers to name but a few) on hand will make dining either inside, or out on the your own personal terrace, a total treat. The sleeping zones are fitted with air conditioning and heating unit to help with a restful sleep whatever the temperature outside. The beds are from Feather and Black with orthopaedic mattresses and the linen is high quality 400 thread-count from Soak and Sleep. The duvets are duck down; microfiber is available on request. You’ll find 100% Egyptian cotton bath robes – warmed on heated towel rails, waiting for you when you step out of the shower and hairdryers come as standard.

In the large living spaces you’ll find sofas and armchairs from Made.com so you can relax and read, surf the web – there is wifi – or sip wine and listen to music on the Sonos sound system. For those spring and autumnal evenings wood burning stoves keep you cosy, just perfect for couples who want to steal away for a snippet of tranquillity.

With children in mind, we tried to think about those little niggles whilst on holiday. Forgotten the child monitor? The gites come ready-equipped with portable monitors. Need children’s cutlery? We’ve thought of that too, as well as children’s plates, bowls and all the other paraphernalia you may need including stair gates, cots, high chairs, baby baths and, yes, potties. The children’s beds have natural wool duvets and pillows to keep little ones cosy in cooler weather and cool on the warmer nights.

Of course if you feel we forgotten anything let us know and we’ll do our best to make it available to make your stay all the more pleasurable. Hopefully now, all that’s left for you to do it to select which of our five gites you’d prefer; Acer, Mimosa, Poplar, Sequoia or Willow.
